• As part of the application, you’ll need to complete an interest assessment to make sure you like learning about what this program offers
• Once you’re accepted, you’ll attend Open House. These occur on a rolling basis, depending on your acceptance date.

After Open House, you’ll attend Tech Orientation where we’ll get you set up with all the accounts you’ll need throughout the program. p get your tech in check as you activate your most frequently used accounts.

• You must be authorized to work in the US
• Be between the ages of 24 and 40
• Have an annual income of $30k or below
• Have a computer with a webcam and microphone (or headset)
• Have 20 hours a week to commit to learning for your selected 6-month session. This includes 9 hours a week of classes, and 11 hours a week for completing assignments and weekly career prep

With the CompTIA A+ Certification, you’d qualify for jobs like:

• Associate Network Engineer, Systems Support Technician, Junior Systems Administrator, Desktop Support Administrator, End-user Computing Technician,System Support Specialist

Pay for jobs in full-time entry-level IT Support ranges from $55k – $62k

It’s important to remember that Climb Hire and the IT Support program is an entryway to a new career and higher income. Starting salaries are just that: starting points.

If you are a California resident living in Alameda, Santa Clara, San Diego, or San Mateo County, you automatically receive free tuition. That means you will never be enrolled in our Pay As You Climb payment model and the program will be 100% free. You don’t need to fill out any additional paperwork – our system will know your eligibility for the program based on the address you provide in your application.

The free tuition is funded through the Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative, which focuses on innovative approaches to addressing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in the labor market through programs like Climb Hire. The initiative is provided in partnership between The California Workforce Development Board and the Foundation for California Community Colleges.

After finishing your learning track, you’ll now be inducted into our circle of Climb Hire alumni and gain access to all the lifetime benefits that come with it. Attend networking events and continue to stay engaged in a thriving community of Climbers.

Alumni who follow our formula below are the ones most likely to find employment within 6 months:

• After the program, your job search journey kicks into high gear. You partner with a Career Development Advisor who provides 1:1 support for 6 months.
• We’ll expect you to apply to at least 20 entry-level jobs a week. In addition, we strongly recommend that you attend alumni-run workshops on interview preparation, resume building, and networking.
• We’ll ask you to make weekly updates to our job search system to reflect the roles and organizations you’ve applied to each month.
