About the AI Fundamentals Course
The AI Fundamentals course is designed for recent Climb Hire alumni who are within their first year or beyond from completing a professional certification in Salesforce Administration, Paid Search Marketing, Digital Marketing & Analytics, Financial Services, Google Project Management, IT Support, or Customer Experience. “Climbers” will obtain a Google certification in AI Essentials through Coursera (5-6 hours), and then work through a Capstone Project with you in order to solve a real-world problem for an organization, presenting their project to peers as a final task.
 

Guide Responsibilities
Generally, Guides are responsible for joining 4 Thursday sessions and hosting a 1:1 with each assigned Climber in their group.
 
Week 3 Thursday: Join for introductions, review of projects (1 hr)
Week 4 Thursday: Join to provide feedback on initial project brainstorms (1.5 hrs)
Week 6 Thursday: Join to provide further feedback on projects (1.5 hrs)
Week 8 Thursday: Join to listen to final presentations, and celebrate projects (1.5 hrs)
Between Weeks 4-7: Meet with Climbers 1:1 on your schedule to check in on project progress, overall career goals, and networking (1 hr each, 3-5 meetings)
 

Compensation
All Guides must attend a mandatory 45-minute training before meeting with Climbers. Guides are compensated $300 after training, attendance at all 4 Thursday sessions, 1:1 meetings, and completing a final exit survey.
 

Your Role as an AI Cohort Mentor (“Project Guide”)

Your role as a mentor includes 3 critical functions:
 

Resource – you’re able to brainstorm alongside Climbers, cultivating and encouraging ideas that help them create incredible work products through their project experiences
 

Cheerleader – you’re enthusiastic about the opportunity Climbers have to build skills, work on teams, and provide real value to employers and their own project portfolios
 

Connector – you’re willing and able to make connections as Climbers seek to leverage their experiences in coursework and community-building to launch into careers with family-sustaining wages
