“There were times that I needed help and I received it at Climb Hire. After I graduated, I repaid the kindness by becoming a Fellow. I wanted other Climbers to accomplish the same success that I achieved. The six months of my fellowship was a remarkable journey. Advising others lifted my motivation and helping the Climbers boosted my enthusiasm. I felt a sense of satisfaction from giving back. It was also an opportunity to learn about myself, how I did things, and the areas I still needed to develop. Mentoring Climbers allowed me to practice my knowledge and verbal communication. Not only did it reinforce what I learned, but it also strengthened my ability to communicate ideas effectively. Supporting Climbers to make decisions and stepping in a position of responsibility for someone’s learning has dramatically developed my leadership skills. Being a fellow gave me an opportunity to reflect on the progress I’ve made and built my confidence.”

“One of the things I enjoyed as a Climber was having a fellow mentor me throughout the program. I was able to get certified and land a job thanks to that personal support. Being successful at Climb Hire is no easy task, but now I get to share my experiences and hard won wisdom with the new cohort. The Fellowship is a crucial piece of Climb Hire’s workflow that helps Climbers become certified and secure a role in tech. It’s the best way to pay back into the community that looked after you. The leadership skills and relationships with new trainees are also very useful at my current job.”

“Serving two consecutive fellowships has been an amazing experience. I have had the opportunity to meet a diverse community that has an amazing spirit. Everyone works so hard and works together with a positive attitude. I can’t think of a better community that helps each other the way Climb Hire does. And the most rewarding feeling as a fellow is getting to watch a Climber grow and see their hard work come to life.”

“Being a fellow has meant that I am able to use what I learned at Climb Hire just six months ago to connect with other community members. I love helping others attain, realize, and manifest our community’s visions. People of color in our community face institutional and systemic challenges and often even violence. Oftentimes, Climbers are discouraged and it’s hard for them to believe in themselves. I want to say to my Climbers “I believe in you.” I want to be a part of galvanizing individuals to attain their personal, emotional, and career goals.

“Being part of a Climber’s transformation from nervous and unsure to confident and decisive is one of the most rewarding parts of being a Climb Hire Fellow. The bonds we have created in our small groups have allowed us to keep building our community. Through our program we have nurtured the spirit of what I learned when I was a Climber, the importance and joy of community. Being a Fellow helps me to remember how far I’ve come and motivates me to strive for more in my career.”

“The fellowship has been such an amazing journey. The best part of being a fellow is meeting 1:1 with climbers and acting as a mentor. The words of appreciation they have offered me as their fellow melts my heart. It’s even more amazing to see them excel in Climb Hire and pass their exams. Some have even landed jobs before they complete the program. I’m so elated and proud of their accomplishments. To think that something I said motivated them is such an amazing feeling. My skills are also stronger for playing this role. I’m much more confident in my ability to lead and communicate with others because of the Fellowship program.”

“Being a part of the fellowship these past 6 months has been a rewarding journey! I am grateful to have connected with these intelligent individuals from all walks of life. It’s inspiring witnessing exactly what I ventured into only a year ago. The Climbers are coming together to build a supportive community and they apply continuous curiosity everyday. I have learned valuable skills from each of the ten Climbers that I had the honor serving in my POD.”

“It feels great to help guide new learners along a path I started on not too long ago. Being in a position to practice these skills in a safe environment is an amazing opportunity. As a Fellow, I’ve been able to work with Climbers to learn about Salesforce, soft skills, and themselves. “Being a Fellow at Climb Hire means much more than just co facilitating weekly sessions. It means commitment, it means supporting Climbers in their quest to succeed, and it means going the distance to accomplish your goals. As I am now in a great new role, I know without a doubt that each and every Climber will have the same opportunities as me. They will do fantastic things to represent our community. Supporting them in any way possible is the Climb Hire way of success and it feels incredibly rewarding watching them get there. As a former Climber and Fellow once told us all, “if you’re not grinding, then you’re not climbing!”

“When I was a Climber and began having regular meetings with my Fellow, I knew that was a role that I would do well in when that time came. Not because of anything other than that I really enjoy helping others progress in something that I am knowledgeable or have direct experience in. However, the Climb Hire fellowship did so much more for me than give me that opportunity. This role enhanced my ability to clearly give directions and queues to a team, while guiding, motivating, and advocating for them throughout the cohort. Alongside two extremely effective co-leads, I was able to plan, practice, and prepare for weekly, three-hour-long virtual class meetings. In a time where roles have become increasingly remote, learning how to lead a virtual meeting well is invaluable in today’s workplace. I highly recommend going through the fellowship program to any Climber, not just to help the next cohort of climbers, but to continue to skill up and invest in your own future.”

“Being a fellow is walking a familiar path, but this time as someone who leads and supports Climbers with their learnings. I learned about leading with listening, and through listening, I was able to guide and support the Climbers on their own journeys.”

“The fellowship — what a journey. I realized that as I was encouraging Climbers to learn and absorb information in a meaningful way, I learned skills that reached beyond Salesforce. When rote memorization is replaced with guided learning and critical thinking, something beautiful happens. I watched Climbers grow from minimal to no technical skills to being offered Salesforce Admin positions. I sit here, and all I can think is WOW. I got to be part of that process and aid in that learning—what an extraordinary honor. I came to Climb Hire thinking I couldn’t teach and what I learned is I did not need to. Climb Hire does not teach; we facilitate. We come together as equals to solve problems and curate content. By facilitating, we remove the power dynamic that exists between teachers and students. By eliminating these positions of power, we allow communities that have perpetually been marginalized and made to feel like their ideas and thoughts are less than to contribute equally. In every aspect, we are a community. I felt like community in its truest form is what I was missing in my life. I am so grateful to have found it in Climb Hire.”

Facilitating and assuming a leadership role within my small study group helped me gain confidence in my new skills, expand my network, and build a stronger community.”

“Being a fellow meant being there to support, advise and help out a Climber when they needed me. I made sure to avail myself and be there every second, whether the Climbers needed help with homework or just a friend to talk to. What I got out of it is the great memories of tackling challenging salesforce FOF questions, creatively explaining why it is important to adjust your resume to suit each job and the most important…friends for life!”

“Being a fellow meant more to me than leading a Pod. For me, it meant that I had the opportunity to give back to the community and help lead the next generation of Climbers to be successful. It was extremely rewarding to work with the team and guide them to achieve their Salesforce Administration Certification. I have learned so much throughout the process from the Climbers as well.
